The story of electrostimulation starts from therapeutical treatments in Ancient Egypt and Greece. In the 1960s, it proved to help Olympic teams to enhance the performance, so sports organizations started to regulate its usage and there were debates whether it should be considered doping.

Today, electrical muscle stimulation is widely accepted training tool in many sports.
